Web Platform Update (August 8th 2024)

Backdrop

  • Option to bulk assign users to a user group is available on the "Inactive Staff" page is not available. 
  • Improvements on handling duplicates in AzureAD syncs.
  • Performance improvements when viewing large student Safeguarding Groups (See KBA).
  • Completed work for more streamlined experience in configuring the ability for Bring Your Device students to use auto-login while still having the option to logout of Backdrop when at home.

Classroom

  • Addressed issue of the broadcast tab not disappearing once class is stopped. Stopping class removes all policies including instances of broadcast.
  • Performance improvements for thumbnail view.
  • Improvements for side menu stability and performance.
  • Defined Classroom Monitoring Groups which are groups of less than 75 learners. These groups are intended to be used by classroom teachers during an active session (See KBA).

Wellbeing

  • Filters were missing in mobile view; this has been fixed.
  • Keyword list improvements.
  • Streamlined keyword severity.

Safeguarding

  • Introduced Safeguarding Groups which are groups of over 75 learners. These groups are not used with Classroom Monitoring, but can be helpful when syncing students, and managing Safeguarding & Wellbeing.

  • MAT Dashboard Managing Staff Groups for Multiple Schools- This feature simplifies managing configurations of Staff Groups through a central location in the MAT Dashboard.  Managing Staff Groups through the MAT Dashboard now makes it possible to create, enforce, and configure Staff Groups that are then applied to selected schools with a few simple clicks.  Configuration of the Staff Groups that are controlled and enforced can include enforcing some or all of the following settings:  Permissions, Notifications, Email Schedules, and Time Blocks.
