Mail Server Settings
*The Mail Server Settings also allow other features besides captures to send emails such as but not limited to, confide submissions and Software Licencing alerts.
By default, capture alerts are delayed over a 5 Minute period and will send a digest of what has been captured within that timespan, if you would like to change this please see this article: Captures email interval configuration
* The Mail Server Address and Port need to be allowed in any firewall, proxy, WAP or other filtering solutions
**The MailFrom account is the email address that users will see the email is from, if the account is different, the account will need to have Send As permissions for the MailFrom address.
In addition to these settings you will also need to set the email addresses in the policy settings on the groups you wish to monitor more information regarding this can be found here - Settings for Email Alerts

Once you have filled out the details you will need to click apply and click Send Test Email, this may fail which is normal.
Google have security options you will need to set and approve.
If the Send Test Email fails, you may need to actually log into the email account, and in the inbox, you may see a security alert, which you will need to approve, as it has detected another app trying to use the account. once approved the test email should now work.
Security Alert Example
If the Send Test Email is still failing you may need to change an option within the account settings to allow "Less Secure Apps" and turn this on - https://myaccount.google.com/lesssecureapps
