Using the Change Password function

Definition

Our "Series C" change password tool, allows a member of staff with console access to change the password of an active directory user. A common scenario in a school is that a student will forget their password and then leave the classroom to get it changed by a network manager, with this tool a teacher would be able to alter a students password from their console, saving valuable learning time. 

Active Directory Integration

In order to use the "Change Password" tool, you will need to integrate with Active Directory. An administrator will need to do this from the Impero Server- Settings- "Active Directory Settings". 

Using Change Password

To use change password, firstly, you will need to use the search bar at the top of the page once you have signed into the Series C browser console. If you begin to type in "Change Password" you will see a pop up appear and be able to access the tool (See Figure 1). Click "Change Password".

Once you have selected "Change Password" you will be navigated to the module itself. To start using the module, you will need to enter in details from the top working your way down before you can launch the tool and change the password. Firstly, you will need to add in the name of the user you wished to change the password of. A console user will then have the ability to see the status of a users password change.
