If you are seeing the same computer appear multiple times in your Impero console view, this is likely to be because of “Fast User Switching” on Windows machines. This setting allows many users to be simultaneously logged into the same machine, thus taking up multiple Impero workstation licenses and appearing multiple times in the Console view. To prevent this, please disable the Fast User Switching via Group Policy.
This behavior can also be limited using Impero Console with two different options, depending on the user preferences:
- Right-click on a group>Properties>Group settings>Workstation security>Force a log off when user is in idle
- This logs off any user that has been in idle for more than a specified amount of time
- Right-click on a group>Properties>Group settings>Workstation security>Enable concurrent login limit
- This does not allow more than a specified amount of users to login
For both scenarios, we recommend alerting the users before applying any of these options (users may lose important works).
