Meaning of Capture status

When you change the status of a capture it is updated in capture manager and is marked as having been reviewed. This then reflects in notifications, digest emails, filters and reports. The different types of status reflect the actions or state of the capture in question: whether it needs to be reviewed, has had action taken elsewhere, is a false positive, or a term you don't need to see again. Out current capture statuses are:

New or Draft: 

New captures are also known as draft captures and indicate that it has not had any actions or other status applied. When captures first appear they will be displayed as a thumbnail in the capture manager with this state. As long as no other state is applied they will remain in the capture manager with a status or new or draft.

Triaged:

Concerns move into a triaged state when they have been attached to a new concern in Impero Backdrop. This indicates that the capture has been reviewed and is deemed to warrant further investigation or action by a person responsible for safeguarding, wellbeing and behaviour. By attaching a capture to a concern within the system you can record offline actions that have been taken, such as conversations with the child or parents, referrals to external agencies, or school interventions that have been planned.

This state only relates to captures that have been attached to concerns in Backdrop from the New Capture button. Customers using alternative methods to record safeguarding will not see captures in this state.

False Positives: 

Captures might become false positives when the image content does not reflect the harmful meaning of the keyword or relates to legitimate school work related to the term for example. When an individual capture is marked as a false positive it will be moved out of the default capture manager view but not affect subsequent captures triggered by the same keyword. 

In the example capture below we can see a term has triggered a capture potentially related to self harm. If you know that the students have been learning about first aid you could mark this as a false positive related to school work. The term has been correctly detected and the content is relevant, however, it's not of concern. Equally, you want to keep detecting and reviewing captures from this term to monitor signs of self harm going forward.

False positives are captures where the content indicates it is a correct detection related to the keyword, but in the context of the page or curriculum for example is not something to worry about.

Excluded: 

When reviewing captures you may find there are keywords from our global lists that are not relevant or of concern to your school. It might be that the term is part of the school curriculum, or location for example. In this case you can Exclude the keyword for the whole school or specific groups. When a capture is taken for an Excluded keyword it will be automatically given a status of Excluded and sorted into the Excluded section, keeping the Capture Manager clear.

We continue to detect and save captures related to the term in the event that this need to be reviewed and changed in the future. 

An example might be: Excluding the keyword 'Nazi' for students learning about World War Two or the Holocaust.

Archived: 

Captures in an archived state means they have been seen and that no further action needs to be taken in Impero Wellbeing. The content should be what is expected of the keyword and lists triggered but may not warrant the safeguarding or behaviour leads to be involved or  that triaging and further actions have happened elsewhere. For example offline, or using a different wellbeing recording system. 

In the example below we've set up test keywords with non-offensive meanings to demonstrate the product. In the case of the capture we can see that the keyword has been identified and the image reflects a related subject. Once reviewed a user can use Archive Capture to remove this capture and thumbnail from the Capture Manager. This reduces confusion and improves efficiency in reviewing new incoming captures.
